Accessibility
The historical center of Florence presents some barriers when it comes to accessibility, namely the narrow sidewalks and bumpy roads. Nonetheless, public structures and services have been adapted to meet accessibility needs whenever and wherever possible.
The ATAF bus system is equipped with wheelchair accessible buses. A door to door bus service
is also offered upon reservation.
The APT Firenze has created a very useful mini-website called Florence without Barriers where you can find information, primarily meant for tourists, about: getting around the city (including wheelchair rentals), accessible accommodation and restaurants, museums and further resources.
