Traffic violation fines are dealt with by the Fines and Notifications Office (verbali e notifiche). This office also provides information about how to pay fines.

If you have received a ticket (placed on your windshield), you must pay this within 10 days at any Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze bank, at the Tesoreria Comunale in via del Castellaccio, or you can pay online here.

 

 

If you received a fine and wish to dispute it, you must address your dispute to the relevant authority who will evaluate the situation. This has to be done within 60 days after receiving the fine.

 

If your traffic violation is simply an administrative fine (as is the case for things like parking tickets, entry into the ZTL, etc.), this is taken up with the Prefetto. You can send this form containing your dispute via registered mail to the following address:

In case of a traffic accident, please call the operations centre on 055 3283333 (line open 24 hours a day). They will dispatch a police patrol to the site of the accident as quickly as possible.
