Line 3.2

It is currently in process of completing a design settlement project for the tramway towards the south-east (Line 3.2), from Fortezza on the avenues across Piazza Libertà, with two lines, one toward Rovezzano (7 km) and one toward Bagno a Ripoli (8 km). This completion would serve the populated areas of Campo di Marte Gavinana and the South of Florence.
The project has a strategic importance that is fundamental for the Florentine tramway system, which enriches the network on the territory, extending it to the south-east toward the district of Bagno a Ripoli, who, with the City Council of Florence, has agreed upon a contract of understanding for the implementation of the line.

With the additional Act of 2007, the City Council has entrusted to the Tram of Florence Inc. (the licensee) the preliminary design of of the extension of Line 3. The final design was approved in 2009 together with the Environmental Impact Study (V.I.A). The City Council has also submitted a request for State Contribution to the Department of Infrastructure and and Transport.
